Moon Glare

A dream-like cascade of images flows into and out of the frame. Flowers proliferate, growing eyes; figures and household items collide and explode. Ceramic faces melt and implode. Within the confines of our homes, our lives have been reduced to screens and a yearning for the tangible experiences of life before the pandemic. Infused with textures from the material world that existed before everything was flattened, Moon Glare conjures a hypnotic, playful space filled with dread and longing—for beauty, flight, and connection.

Rosalind's Gingko

Rosalind's Gingko uses first hand interviews to tell the story of my mother's community effort to plant gingko trees on our block in Brooklyn and her childhood growing up on the Lower East Side. Her tale is juxtaposed with text about my personal history of homesteading in the same neighborhood thirty years later. The gingko is known for its properties for memory and also as one of the heartiest urban trees in NYC .
